ABSTRACT: The research objective this was to determine the biological characteristics and parasitism capacity of T. remus reared on different Spodoptera species and under different temperatures, as well as determining the optimal parasitoids number to be reIeased in cotton, com and soybeans and the attractiveness of it for these crops. The biological characteristics were studied in four hosts, namely: Spodoptera albula, S. cosmioides, S. eridania and S.frugiperda. The work resuIts we can affirm that all hosts are able to development T. remus also the best temperature range for development is between 22 and 28°e and the host that presented the best results were S.frugiperda. The parasitism capacity of T. remus was evaluated in three hosts, which were: S. cosmioides, S. eridania and S.frugiperda. The results illustrate that T. remus presents variations in the total parasitized eggs number at different temperatures and their hosts, and the best temperature range for the T. remus parasitism are from 22 to 31°e for S. cosmioides, 19 to 25°e for S. eridania and 19 to 31°e for S.frugiperda. The optimal number of T. remus to be released in cotton, com and soybeans was analyzed from the different densities release of parasitoid females in these cultures. The results suggest that cotton, the densities of 0.267 and 0.300 females/egg of the pest, exert control over 70% in vegetative and reproductive phenological stages, respectívely, in com, densities of 0.167 and 0.133 females/egg of the pest, exert control over 75% in the phenological stages V4 and VIO, respectively, and soybean, there was a riding above 75% only in the vegetative stage in the ratio of 0,300 females/egg of the pest. And in order to analyze the possible attractiveness of T. remus by cotton, com and soybeans as welI as by the presence ofherbivory, an experiment was performed in semi-field conditions. The resuIts indicate that the attraction ofthe parasitoid caused by the presence of egg masses on plants and not specific to volatiles from each of them, or even by the herbivory presence. Still, given the significant difference between cultures that illustrates the architecture of plants can favor the locatíon of the egg parasitoid, this being a factor in the T. remus releases in different cultures. The results of different experiments conducted in this study are important tools for the depIoyment of a biological controI program, therefore bringing basic knowledge about the relationship between parasitoid hosts and with different cultures.
